“The Turtle Trader”
Whenever I read back the story about the Turtle Trader, there has never been a more inspiring real story about the path of becoming a professional trader. This is the greatest trading stories ever told. It’s the story of how a group of 23 non-traders was trained to become professional traders and then becoming the legends of the stock market overnight.
The Story
In the early 1980s, a group of 23 people successfully joined a trading training program which was run by the legendary commodity trader Richard Dennis. This group of people was assemble from blackjack player, game designer, accountant, Harvard MBA, air pilot, pianist, programmer, lawyer, actor, security guard, restaurant manager, unemployed student, bartender, kitchen cook, teacher and prison worker. (Almost all professions are from non-financial related backgrounds.)This group of people was trained in 2 weeks about the fundamental and technical of the stock market, as well the personal trading strategies of the legendary commodity trader. Richard Dennis described this group of students as “The Turtle Traders”. He would then give these students his own money about $1 million each to trade, and they successfully made $175 million in five years time from the total two classes of turtle traders. These turtles became highly successful traders and today some of them are still managing billion dollar hedge funds.
Lessons
It doesn’t matter what’s your profession background, if you learn from a Real Professional Trader you can have the opportunity to really evolve into a professional trader yourself. Trading can be a successful life career and give you unimaginable rewards in life.
